Story:
This aftermarket automotive customer was in the beginning stages of designing a new air suspension system for multiple markets. A key design feature of the system was to ensure accurate leveling under different driving conditions.  As a business startup, the customer needed engineering support to develop a solenoid valve system to control air flow in and out of each individual air bag. Key to the system includes a no leak design that would be extremely durable and reliable.

Solenoid Solution’s Solution:
Solenoid Solution’s team designed some early prototypes to help the customer build their first systems. Through constant improvement and Solenoid Solution’s dedicated engineering support, an eight (8) Valve Manifold system was developed to offer their customers a true plug-and-play, compact  assembly. The valve manifold system includes two-way, normal-closed, Wattmizer models engineered to provide the cleanest installation and most reliable operation on the market. The electronic solenoid valve unit inflates and deflates up to (4) individual air bags and has 1/4” NPT ports for use with any fittings that you choose for all of its plumbing connections. The robust internal solenoid valve architecture maximizes flow rates, provides bubble-tight sealing, and guarantees operation up to 200 psi for millions of cycles. All of this technology is housed in an enclosure design for this application which routes each of the solenoid wires to a single weatherproof connector, eliminating typically loose wires. This not only improves the appearance, but it also guarantees proper operation for every installation. Overall size is only 5"x 3"x 3" and has the ability to survive harsh vehicle environments.

The Air Suspension kits are now in high demand through aftermarket automotive distributors around the globe. The finished valve manifold is performing above expectations.
